I wanted to express my greatest gratitude to Midtown Hospice for having patients with me and being so compassionate about my aunt's care. I was a little skeptical and against it at first. I did not really think my aunt was ready for Hospice.
Karen Soto was very soft-spoken and listened to my main concerns and needs of my aunt. She explained hospice in way that I felt comfortable. I felt like I had a say and some control over the care of my aunt. We talked about different ways Hospice could address each need to ensure that my aunt would be as pain-free and comfortable as possible. I was satisfied with the result. Just as Karen assured me, all my aunt’s needs were put in place. The next day: RN came to assess, Chaplain came visited, social worker came, supply was delivered, Hospital bed was delivered, everything was done asap as promised.
The communication with the staff was amazing. This whole experience has been excellent, and my mother and I are able to rest at night knowing my aunt is being gently cared for by a team of people who really do care. Everyone at Midtown Hospice went above and beyond my expectations. To Patricio RN, Tyler DON, Jennifer, Karen: Intake, and Tammy CNA, and to all the people behind the scenes, thank you for all you do, and may God bless you.
Midtown Hospice is God sent; the staff are like angles. Very Kind, compassionate, caring, and eager to help in any way. I can always count on the staff to be readily available at any time of the day or night. When I was diagnosed with a terminal diagnosis, I was left with a life discussion I didn’t expect. I had to come to terms that it was my time. I’ve lived a full life, I’m a retired Military Veteran who’s had his share of helping others working as a paramedic, firefighter to law enforcement. Now it was just me and Pete, my best friend.
I Still remember when Midtown first contacted me and I was asked” Mr. Norman, what are your concerns? What are your expectations from Hospice? All I could say was, I’m in a lot of pain and I’m tired. It was the caring words of concern, the fact that finally someone asked me what I wanted, someone who was concerned about my needs, someone who was willing to work with me. It was this one sentence that made me decided that Midtown Hospice was the right agency for me “we are here to help YOU, most of your life was spent caring for others in need, now it’s your turn, my staff and I are here to provide you with the healthcare you deserve.
One of my main concerns was my precious family member, my best friend “Pettie” he’s my K-9. What’s going to happen to Pete? Who’s going to care for him? My mind was rest assured that Midtown would assist in placing Pete in a good loving home. Just knowing that puts my mind and heart at ease. Midtown Hospice is a 5 start rating agency.
I had to put my grandmother on hospice after her body was not strong enough due to gastrointestinal disease CDIFF, Alzheimer's, and congestive heart failure. So I called Midtown Hospice to help me through the process. I have never been in that kind of situation, so obviously I was very nervous and not sure what to expect and felt very alone in the situation. But after calling Midtown Hospice, everything changed. They did an awesome job at sending me the right people at any time I needed. So I felt some support that allowed me to make it to the end.
They were very informative on the phone and in person as well. Margaret was an excellent nurse—so caring, so informative, and so patient. Telly the social worker was wonderful on his visit to provide information and resources as a caregiver. Jennifer, I can't say enough about her—she was full of kindness, experience, and knowledge. Never seen anyone bake and deliver cookies, which really put a smile on my grandmother's face. Really, everyone was just excellent. I would recommend Midtown Hospice to anyone in need of medical help with their loved ones... Call them and tell them your situation, and they will tell you how they can help.
Thank you, Midtown Hospice, for all you did to make my grandmother's departure smooth and my dealing with the matter easier. God is good and knew who I needed.
My family and I can not say thank you enough to the staff at Midtown Hospice. The employees and care givers have gone above and way beyond their abilities to make sure we have everything we needed. Karen made sure we got the medical supplies we needed for my grandpa. We needed a sling for his lift and it was on back order. She had one of her employees go and get one and deliver it to us personally. Karen and her team are very nice, supportive, caring and excellent people to work with.
I am truly grateful for the loving care, kindness and concern that was given to my mother, Cheryl Lynn Duarte. Your attention and anticipation of my mother's needs greatly assisted her peaceful transition and gave comfort to all of us.
Mom was gratefully accepted into your Hospice Care program while in the hospital that morning and everything she needed, from the medical equipment to the medications, were delivered by the time she got home in the same day that evening. I was amazed by the rapid response from Midtown Hospice and the way they catered to her needs and my calls with questions. It just exceeded my expectations and left me with a better understanding of what hospice care is all about. I thank God for Midtown Hospice; the quick response, education, and care of all the professional team were just outstanding.
I know for a fact that I could not have done this alone; it would have been overwhelming for me and I would not have been able to care for my mother at the level provided by Midtown Hospice. Thank you!
I am grateful for all the Midtown team that touched our lives. I know there are many others, including those behind the scenes. Please pass along our gratitude for their care. The nurses and the aid were particularly amazing. We watched in awe and with much love as they so skillfully and carefully cared for my mother, always treating her with such dignity, respect, and kindness.
Thank You" doesn't say it all, but at least it starts to let you all know how very much the Kindness of Midtown touched our hearts. Our Mom was our Angel and we thank you for the care you gave her.
Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and then keep us in your prayers as we continue on...
My family and I will forever be grateful to the Midtown Hospice Care team. They gave us the peace we needed and, more importantly, gave my grandmother comfort, love, attention, and respect before her passing. After having a horrific experience with another hospice organization and not yet officially even being accepted into Midtown Hospice, Karen and the Midtown Hospice team shared wisdom, guidance, love, and support with me and my family. Karen even prayed over the phone with me. They went above and beyond to help us in our situation.
I was amazed and in awe of the quick responses and attention we received. My grandmother passed shortly after being transferred to Midtown Hospice; however, knowing she received the proper love, care, and respect (in comparison to the other hospice organization) made a huge difference. Thank you, Midtown Hospice, for being there.
